Dr.
Keith Augustus Burton, a native
of London, England, is the sixth
of ten children born to Nehemiah
and Cynthia Burton. He is married
to Hyacinth Henry of Kingston, Jamaica,
and is the proud father of a seventeen-year-old
daughter, Sheereen, and a thirteen-year-old
son, Kaleem. He recently completed
five years of service on the General
Conference Biblical Research Institute
Committee, and is an adjunct Facilitating
Instructor of Religion at the
Florida Hospital College of Health
Sciences.
Dr. Burton’s professional preparation
commenced at
Oakwood College
where he obtained
a Bachelor of Arts in Theology,
Biblical Languages, and History.
He went on to receive a Master of
Theological Studies in New Testament
Interpretation from
Garrett-Evangelical Theological
Seminary. His academic preparation
was completed at
Northwestern University where
he earned the Doctor of Philosophy
in Religious and Theological Studies
with a cognate in Classical Rhetoric.
An ordained minister, Dr. Burton
has preached and conducted revivals
and seminars for a number of denominations
in Europe, Asia, North America, Africa,
and the Caribbean. He has also been
the featured guest on several television
and radio programs, and has presented
numerous scholarly papers at professional
meetings.
In addition to his speaking activities,
Dr. Burton is also an author. He
has published over 100 articles
in journals, magazines and encyclopedias,
and has also written several books.
Most recently, he has completed
The Compassion of the Christ
(Stanborough Press, 2004) and
The
Faith Factor (lifeHERITAGE Publications,
2005), and has submitted the
manuscript for an Adult Bible Study
guide which will be read by over
four-million people around the world.
His most recent book,
The
Blessing of Africa,
was released by
InterVarsity
Press in July, 2007.
Dr. Burton considers his earthly
accomplishments as mere tools to
assist in the advancement of the
kingdom. His motto for life is
"A tree is known by its fruit."
